Supermarket chain Tesco...

Supermarket chain Tesco has teamed up with Motorpoint to allow its customers to put Clubcard loyalty scheme vouchers towards new and used vehicles from the automotive giant. As part of the deal, Clubcard coupons are worth four times their face value when being used to buy a car, so a ÷£2.50 voucher can be redeemed for ÷£10 against a forecourt price. Tesco customers can even hoard vouchers for up to two years, allowing shoppers to save hundreds of pounds.

The booming city car market is about to get even more competitive, with Ford confirming the new Ka will undercut its main rival, the Fiat 500. Starting at ?7,995 for the entry-level 1.2-litre Studio, the city car costs ?105 less than the equivalent 500 and only ?350 more than the outgoing Ka.

And the picture in this week"s mag reveals conclusively that the BMW-owned baby"s trademark clamshell design has been dropped in favour of a more conventional panel, which leaves the headlights in place when it"s opened. The modification will reduce production costs and mean the car is easier to repair in the event of an accident.
