The í‚á£50,000, 3.0-litre V6-powered two-seater is the brainchild of former Land Rover employee Andy Nowson, and the Birmingham NEC show on 14 and 15 January is the first to be attended by the firm. Nowson plans to set up a Midlands base to produce the car.

He also offers a VW Beetle with Herbie paint, or if you fancy playing cop for the day, there"s a Ford Mustang as seen in the Steve McQueen classic, Bullitt. Believe it or not, this...

Believe it or not, this stunning looking sports car isn’t from a European, American or Japanese manufacturer – it’s Chinese!

The Geely GT Concept is proof that the firm is committed to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the world car market – and it’s ready to take on the supercar elite.

There will be few complaints from enthusiasts about the looks of this wild model, which will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. The rakish two-door is inspired by many existing models, from Maserati to Infiniti.

The nose is dominated by a distinctive grille and flanked by large headlamps stretching up over the wheelarches. In profile, chrome detailing picks out the sharp window line and huge tail-lights.

Technical details about the GT have yet to be revealed, but the show star is likely to be based on one of Geely’s existing platforms. The firm already has a sports car in its line-up. The imaginatively named Beauty Leopard is a budget coupé that’s tipped to go on sale in Europe by the end of the year with a choice of 1.3 or 1.5-litre petrol engines.

While the entry-level coupé will probably cost less than ÷£10,000, the modern styling and upmarket appearance of the GT could make it a fitting flagship for the Geely range.
