What follows is my last word on the British International Motor Show, 2006. Or my last 587 words, to be precise. On the three days and one evening I attended the expo in London"s Docklands, I saw nothing but satisfied British and international journalists, cautiously optimistic motor industry personnel and, most important of all, happy punters.

As you can see in the mag, designers will keep the transition from coup탩 to cabriolet simple, retaining the GT"s elegant lines and distinctive rear-end styling. Unlike some rivals, the Alfa won"t have a folding hard-top, as bosses have opted for a conventional electrically operated fabric hood. This will give the car a more compact mechanism, allowing the shape and impressive practicality of the hard-top two-door to be preserved.

The mag"s pictures give the best clue yet of what buyers have got to look forward to. Pictured in three and five-door form, the cornerstone of the French company"s new small car offensive will take styling cues from the 307 hatchback, as well as the forthcoming 1007 city model. The trademark headlights and grille from the larger 407 will also feature. Longer and wider than the current 206, the 207 will offer a more spacious cabin.

Bosses claim the line-up...

Bosses claim the line-up of treatments will not only enhance the performance of your car, but also help to prolong the lifespan of crucial engine and transmission components.

The range comprises five products aimed at owners of petrol and diesel vehicles alike. The Petrol System Treat÷ment claims to improve fuel economy, while the diesel alternative has been designed to give the same results, and at the same time combat the growth of algae.

There are also Transmission Treatments for automatic and manual gearboxes, both of which promise to make gearshifts not only smoother, but quieter as well.

Completing the range is the Engine System Treatment. This protects the powerplant during cold starts and cuts friction by up to 95 per cent, and also claims to enhance performance. Each product comes in a 240ml pack.
