Called the City Navigator Europe NT version 9, the latest addition to the line-up has coverage of 32 countries across Europe. And you’ll be able to find your way around some of the better-known holiday destinations, as the programme now offers comprehensive mapping for Spain and Portugal. It also stretches to Andorra, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Poland and the Republic of Ireland.
As our illustration of the cov÷erage shows, mapping for some of Eastern Europe has been added or improved. This means there is now far more data on the Czech Rep÷ublic, while big cities in Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are also covered.
The mapping is supplied by Navteq, and the programme contains more than six million miles of roads. Also listed are more than one million points of interest, including tourist attractions, restaurants and parking information. As the software is provided on an SD or micro SD card, existing handheld sat-nav owners can simply upgrade their mapping via the set-up’s expansion slot.
All the brand’s new Nüvi and Street÷Pilot devices come uploaded with the enhanced coverage as standard, while current Garmin users are offered a DVD update at a reduced price of ÷£46.
