It was hard to miss...

It was hard to miss Fiat"s star of the show - the 500. For a start, there was a hansel and grettle style trail of ladies, styled to within an inch of their lives and sporting white jumpsuits,, to show the way. I just followed these and was confronted with a giant version of the popular new supermini. To give you an idea of the scale...the model"s wheels disappeared to reveal real-life 500s inside, which visitors can ride through the supersized version and out towards the gobsmacked crowd.

Pictured on the firm"s show stand with Joe Eberhardt, executive vice president, the Unlimited is 381mm longer than the standard Wrangler, which means more load space and rear legroom. There are currently no plans to bring it to the UK, but with improved on-road refinement and an increased towing capacity, the Unlimited would be sure to attract new buyers into showrooms.

Finally! Bugatti has...

Finally! Bugatti has officially revealed its long-awaited flagship saloon car, the 16 C Galibier.÷

Set to grace the firm"s show stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September, the car gets the same 16-cylinder engine that powers the Veyron coupe - mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

With the empahsis of the design and engineering firmly on ultimate luxury, the ÷£900,000 model also gets a distinctive wood and leather trimmed interior, with room for four passengers.

Like the Veyron, which at 1,000bhp offers a top speed of over 240mph, the Galibier also aims to the be the world"s fastest saloon. With a detuned 800bhp version of the Veyron"s engine under the boonet, top speed should be around 220mph.

To help improve the performance further still, a lightweight body, built of carbon fibre and aluminium, will feature.

Although officially a concept car, Bugatti clearly has high hopes for its latest model÷  - and first saloon car since the dramatic Atantique concept - hinting that production models could be on sale by 2013, the same year production of the Veyron is tipped to end.
