Designed at the maker"s London-based studio as a mobile working environment for scientists, geologists and adventurers, the SUV"s interior doubles as a field laboratory, complete with a Star Trek-style workstation housed in a rotating glass sphere to the rear. Up to three occupants can be sustained for a week thanks to the car"s refrigerated provision storage space, built-in tents and cooking facilities. They will also be able to stay in touch via an advanced satellite information and communication system.

According to figures from British Car Auctions, average values for three-year-old ex-fleet models were more than ?350 higher to the end of November compared to 2005. That trend is likely to continue as traders replenish forecourts during the busy period after New Year.
