For the first time in the history of the event, visitors will be able to park their vehicles under the display areas and get to the expo direct. The six-month project provides 1,600 bays.
"Previously, there was nothing more than an under-used area of dirt beneath the exhibition halls," explained Peter Cowlard of constructor Makers.
Entrance and exit lanes link with the external road network, while new lighting will brighten two customer foyers connecting to the halls above. CCTV is being installed in time for the project"s completion next month.
