It may seem bizarre...
It may seem bizarre, but drivers are being urged to hang up their keys in order to celebrate the car. Organisers of National Car Week, from 30 May to 5 June, think doing this will show motorists just how important their motor is for modern life. A spokesman said: "Every day, drivers are under scrutiny. National Car Week is all about championing the responsible motorist."
However, while the evil...
However, while the evil Jedi Master is a work of fiction, there"s nothing fake about this uprated SUV. The Murano GT-C is officially billed as a concept, but could reach UK dealerships if it gets a positive reaction at next week"s British Motor Show.
The 335bhp V6 black beauty made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex last weekend, where it proved to the crowds of race fans that it can sprint from 0-60mph in only seven seconds.
Although the standard car"s four-wheel drive and CVT gearbox remain, lowered and stiffened suspension copes with the extra performance, while AP Racing brakes provide more stopping power. And there"s style to go with the substance. A bronze finish on the grille, wing mirrors, door handles and headlamps complement the black bodywork. Purposeful mesh in the air intakes and a revised rear bumper also appear, along with huge 22-inch alloys.
Inside, mood lighting and hand-stitched leather upholstery are among the features. Highlights of the interior include a gearlever and part of the centre console which are made out of hand-blown glass.
A price tag of around ?45,000 is expected if the Murano is given the green light. A Nissan spokesman explained: "Bar a few minor trim changes, what you see is what you would get - that"s if the GT-C receives production approval."
