This is the car which will put MG back on the map – in Birmingham. It’s called the Roewe 550, but Auto Express can exclusively reveal that an MG-badged version is on its way, and is likely to be made at Longbridge.

Kia"s design department is on a roll! This sleek saloon, codenamed VG, is the latest model to emerge from the Korean manufacturer, and it could well be its best-looking model to date.
Combining the layout of a four-door saloon with the low roofline and short front overhang of a coupe, much like the Jaguar XF, it"s changed very little from the concept that previewed it at the Seoul Motor Show earlier this year.
Power comes from a 277bhp 3.5-litre V6 driving the front wheels, although a 2.4-litre four-cylinder unit will also be available.
But here"s the bad news... Kia is only planning to sell the VG in Korea, North America and selected European markets - there"s no current plans to bring it to the UK.
