Mercedes is raising its profile in Detroit with this dramatic sculpture previewing the CLS Concept which is due later this year. And the futuristic design is no accident, not only does the sculpture preview the next CLS, it also gives the strongest hints yet on Mercedesò€™ future styling plans.



Unveiled in three-door...

Unveiled in three-door form for the first time at the SEMA show last week, the new Accent (pictured) is based on the Kia Rio platform. But with sharper lines, sporty alloys and bulging wheelarches, it"s more distinctive. Under the bonnet, the Accent will come with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, while a 1.4 petrol and a 1.5 diesel should arrive later in 2006. An official European debut is scheduled for January"s Brussels Motor Show.

Unveiled this week at Belgium"s Brussels Motor Show, the Deck"up sits on 20-inch alloy wheels and has a radically styled body, featuring large glass shutters that slide back for true open-air motoring. There"s also a pick-up-style bay, as well as slide and twist rear seats. Power comes from a 135bhp, 2.5-litre diesel engine and is transmitted to the road via a six-speed manual transmission and permanent four-wheel-drive.
