New Zealander Scott...

New Zealander Scott Dixon racked up his sixth IRL win of the season with a last-gasp victory at the Kentucky Speedway.

The Ganassi Honda driver stole the lead from Helio Castroneves on the last corner of the final lap, after the Brazilianò€™s Penske ran out of fuel within sight of the flag. Marco Andretti completed the podium after fighting his way up from ninth.

British honour was upheld by Dan Wheldon, who brought the second Ganassi car home in fifth place. The 2005 champ had been in the running for a top three finish, but lost a number of places at his final pitstop. Dixon now holds a commanding 78-point lead in the title standings with only three rounds of the series remaining.

The teams move to Sonoma, California, on 24 August.
