Pictured on the firm"s show stand with Joe Eberhardt, executive vice president, the Unlimited is 381mm longer than the standard Wrangler, which means more load space and rear legroom. There are currently no plans to bring it to the UK, but with improved on-road refinement and an increased towing capacity, the Unlimited would be sure to attract new buyers into showrooms.

The first production Ford GT to be imported from the US will head straight for the museum - joining the firm"s UK-based Heritage Collection. Along with two original GT40s owned by the blue oval, the car could eventually form the centrepiece of a new visitor centre housing the manufacturer"s 85 historic vehicles. No location or opening date has yet been finalised.

Nissan is turning over...

Nissan is turning over a new Leaf! This specifically built electric car is claimed to be the worldò€™s first affordable, zero-emission passenger vehicle.

The medium-sized hatch has room for five adults, and its lithium-ion battery pack, plus regenerative braking system, delivers a range of 100 miles.

A healthy 280Nm of torque and 109bhp mean the Leafò€™s performance should rival a petrol hatchò€™s. And the batteries can be topped up to 80 per cent in only 30 minutes using an optional quick charger.

The design incorporates bulbous vertical LED headlights, which help to redirect airflow away from the mirrors, reducing resistance.

Inside is a large touchscreen connected to a global data centre.

Prices will be revealed closer to launch in late 2010. However, Nissan claims theyò€™ll be similar to a well equipped VW Golfò€™s, so expect it to start from Ò£15,000.
