We featured the work...

We featured the work of the Scandinavian scientists in issue 796, long before we"d heard of the Tweel. They first developed their combined tyre and wheel in 1989, yet only managed to raise enough money to build prototypes three years ago. To our way of thinking...

To our way of thinking, a facelift in 2003 spoiled the 156"s looks, and you can"t beat the earlier cars when it comes to value for money. The trademark offset number plate, heart-shaped grille and hidden rear door handles were there from the start, and with a decent engine line-up from day one - including the cracking 2.0-litre Twin Spark - there"s much to recommend it. Fragile interior trim and shoddy build are the major weaknesses, so stick to low-mileage cars with a full dealer history to minimise the risks of buying a dud.

Pouring petrol into...

Pouring petrol into an oil-burning car can cause havoc ň€“ but not if you use Halfordsň€™ Think Diesel. Itň€™s a light-sensitive device that goes inside your filler flap. When you open the flap, a recorded voice says: ň€śStop, diesel, remember, diesel.ň€ť For cars with an internal flap release, the instruction is repeated so you donň€™t forget. The universal device fixes in place using an adhesive pad.
