Product planning boss Patrick Pelata says it will now be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2007. He told us: "A car such as the GT-R has to make technology breakthroughs. Toyota has announced...

Toyota has announced prices for its Aygo city car - and they start at í‚á£6,745 for the 1.0-litre three-door. The Plus range costs from í‚á£7,245, while the flagship Sport model is í‚á£7,745 for the three-door and í‚á£7,995 for the five-door. Metallic paint costs í‚á£325 and air-con is í‚á£500 on the two higher trim levels. An MMT clutchless manual gearbox is í‚á£500 extra on any car.

Powered by the same engine as is found in Ford"s Focus ST, the T5 develops 220bhp and hits 0-62mph in around six seconds. Priced from ÷£21,495 to ÷£22,995, this performance version of the new hatch is aiming to take on VW"s Golf GTI and Audi"s A3. The super-Swede doesn"t go on sale until January, but Volvo says it"s already had more pre-orders than for the highly popular XC90.

Meanwhile, the car maker is also considering bringing an environmentally friendly Flexi-fuel version of the C30 to the UK.
