You fit it on the roof of your car - as on this Nissan Micra - and at the push of a button it wags from side to side, like a dog"s tail, to show your gratitude. It"s meant to be used when another driver lets you in ahead of them. The firm reckons it will be a big Christmas hit in Japan.

He was joined by Ford CEO Alan Mulally who told the assembled crowd at the Cobo arena that the new Focus had been "designed and engineered to meet the needs of millions of buyers around the world".

Sheep"s urine could be the revolutionary way to cut toxic emissions from buses. Travel firm Stagecoach has adapted a vehicle to use urea from the liquid in a process called selective catalytic reduction. It will go on trial in Winchester, Hants, this summer. A spokesman said: "We hope to kit out more vehicles so the town will have the UK"s largest eco-friendly fleet."
