Standing nearly two metres tall and weighing a scales-busting 2,300kg, it certainly looks imposing. The absence of a B-pillar between the front and rear side windows gives the bruiser"s cabin a light and airy feel. Under the bonnet is a 5.7-litre MDS HEMI V8 engine, and the show car also features the signature Dodge grille, with a brace of hi-tech LED headlights built into the design.
The inside is more occupant-friendly than a traditional pick-up"s, and incorporates the clever "Stow "n Go" folding seat system borrowed from sister company Chrysler"s Voyager MPV.
Designer Scott Krugger said: "It"s for people who want the capability of a pick-up without sacrificing space." This year"s Chicago event is a busy one for Dodge - the maker will also display the Caliber SRT sports SUV and Nitro 4x4 for the first time. Both of these models are scheduled to hit the UK next year.
