The Cobra spits again!...

The Cobra spits again! Troubled sports car maker AC has bounced back to build a new version of its Sixties roadster.

Estimated to start at a huge Ò£90,000, the new AC MkVI gets the latest Corvette V8, and is reined in by Porsche brakes.

The 6.2-litre GT produces a healthy 437bhp, while the GTS delivers 647bhp and sprints from 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds. Theyò€™re the first ACs since the company went bust under boss Alan Lubinsky.

The news suggests plans to build the Smart Roadster-based Ace ò€“ developed by a group called Project Kimber, as we revealed in Issue 940 ò€“ have now been shelved.

A launch date for the MkVI has yet to be revealed, but it canò€™t be badged Cobra as US brand Shelby owns the name.
