The French firm has tweaked its compact MPV, yet it chose not to display it at the Docklands event. So we"ll show you official pictures here instead.
The revamped version of the best-selling people carrier will get two new engines and a fresher look when it hits showrooms in October. At the front, it features the family look of the Mégane and new Clio thanks to a revised grille, bumper and stylish headlamps. Trendy LED-equipped tail-lights combine with a reprofiled bumper at the back.
Under the bonnet, Renault"s 150bhp 2.0-litre dCi diesel engine makes its debut in the Scenic, while the 1.9-litre dCi powerplant is available with an automatic transmission for the first time. The revised range also sees the 2.0-litre turbo petrol model axed from the line-up.
Inside, buyers will benefit from higher-quality interior trim and an updated list of optional extras, including front and rear parking sensors, MP3-compatible stereos and extra window tinting for passengers in the rear.
The range of updates also applies to the long-wheelbase, seven-seater Grand Scenic. In addition, customers will be able to specify the Grand model without the third row of chairs. With room for five, the car will boast class-leading luggage space, thanks to its enormous 501-litre boot. Prices for the updated range have yet to be announced, but they are unlikely to differ greatly from the current model line-up.
