The booming city car...
The booming city car market is about to get even more competitive, with Ford confirming the new Ka will undercut its main rival, the Fiat 500. Starting at ?7,995 for the entry-level 1.2-litre Studio, the city car costs ?105 less than the equivalent 500 and only ?350 more than the outgoing Ka.
There are three other trim levels available, which all come with the 1.2-litre 67bhp petrol engine. These comprise the ?8,495 Style, the ?8,995 Style + and the ?9,495 Zetec. The range-topper also comes with the option of a 74bhp 1.3-litre TDCi diesel, which hikes the price to ?10,195. Fuel economy is boosted to 67.3mpg from 45.6mpg for the oil-burner. The new Ka is set to arrive in showrooms in January.
