We have accessed all...
We have accessed all areas of the first two models to roll off the production line, leaving no stone unturned to deliver the definitive inside line on both the three and five-door versions.
This is the Mercedes...
This is the Mercedes that we reckon should be called the C-Glass! Itò€™s the replacement for the current CLK ò€“ and, as our spy shot shows, it has a special targa top with full-length opening sunroof.
The car is actually tipped to be called the CE. Its roof, made of toughened panels of tinted glass, is a further development of the innovative arrangement of tilting panels already offered on smaller Mercs, including the entry-level A-Class.
Potential CE owners have plenty to look forward to, as the firm promises the car will blend the sophistication and comfort of an E-Class saloon with the sporty good looks of a C-Class coupé. Cosmetic changes are complemented by a mechanical makeover, and the addition of technology such as Mercedesò€™ Adaptive Damping System, as well as adjustable settings for the steering and body control.
The rear-wheel-drive model will use C-Class engines, including the 1.8 petrol and 3.0-litre V6 diesel units.
Oil-burners are expected to dominate sales, and prices are set to match the CLKò€™s rivals at about Ò£26,000.
