As our images show, the designers have gone back to the drawing board with the exterior styling. There"s also a new platform, a revised range of engines and a spacious interior.
Unveiled at the Rimini...
Unveiled at the Rimini Tuning Show in Italy, this limited-edition version features white stripes on the sides, bonnet, C-pillars and tailgate, as well as a matching double-chevron badge on the grille.
There are also special Supersprint logos on the doors and sills, and white alloy wheels stand out next to the car"s bright red paintwork.
Based on the standard VTS, the Supersprint also gets a new exhaust, with its twin tailpipes set wide apart beneath the rear bumper.
Power output from the car"s 1.6-litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine remains the same at 125bhp. The car"s transmission, suspension and brakes are also unchanged from the standard VTS. This gets around homogolation issues, which bosses say would have made the special model a no go. The purely cosmetic changes also keep cost increases as low as possible. As a result, the exclusive VTS Supersprint would only be around ÷£500 more than the standard VTS if Citroen decides to bring it to the UK.
